Founded in 2012, the Heart of Virginia Free Clinic is a community-based medical mission, a vision of a diverse group of health care providers and other community members.

The mission of the Heart of Virginia Free Clinic is to provide quality, non-urgent, basic health care to qualified uninsured residents of Prince Edward and surrounding counties.

It is the clinic’s vision to use our collective talents to improve the overall health of the community while maintaining each patient’s sense of dignity and self-worth.

The goal of this mission is simple…  “until all have access”

Historically, our services include such things as:
– routine checkups,
– lab work,
– eye exams,
– help with purchase of eyeglasses,
– referrals for dental care,
– management of diabetes,
– management of hypertension,
– management of other chronic diseases,
– screening for cervical and breast cancer.
